Aspen Spine & Physical Medicine

Aspen Spine and Physical Medicine is an internationally recognized sports medicine clinic with over 20 years of practice and experience.  World-class athletes, influential leaders, and Aspen locals alike converge here for the "hands-on" approach to get patients well as fast as possible so they can continue their active life style.  Our patient’s treatment average 4.5 visits before they are released.

The realm of physical medicine is manually working on patients and incorporates chiropractic and physical therapy.  Dr. Haynie spends 20-45 minutes with each patient to evaluate, consult, diagnose, treat, educate and train the patient so they are informed and understand what their diagnosis is and how to resolve their condition.  Dr. Haynie is a trained chiropractor, who specializes in full body biomechanics so he can address both your compensatory symptoms and the true root cause of the problem.  He has over 20 years experience with Active Release Techniques, Graston Technique, acupuncture, and dry needling.  He has taught biomechanical evaluation courses, and an in-depth biomechanical assessment when treating all conditions or before considering making custom orthotics for his patients.

Aspen Spine & Physicalqa Medicine

As a musculoskeletal specialist Dr. Haynie focuses not only on joints and ligaments, but spends as long as needed to break up adhesions and restore full range of motion and function to the soft tissue structures of the body with techniques like ART- Active Release Technique, Dry Needling and Graston.  The field of physical medicine is changing; doctors are now sending patients to specialists like Dr. Haynie who can go through a patient’s biomechanics to resolve the root of the problem.  This change in the physical medicine model has doctors looking at the patients improper movement and mobility patterns and addressing the patients compensations by breaking up scar tissue and restoring function to joints and soft tissue structures for a couple of visits before they go into physical therapy or in conjunction with physical therapy or occupational therapy.  By restoring the patients function and mobility before the patient does exercises the patients are resolving faster and with less visits.

Centrally located in Aspen Colorado, the clinic is easily accessible to residents and visitors.  We work closely with area orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and medical groups.  We treat the active local population but also partner with local high school athletes and community organizations, including treating and sponsoring the Aspen Sante Fe Ballet, Gentleman of Aspen Rugby, Team Prep USA runners, professional athletes, many X-Games and Olympic athletes.

Dr. Haynie and I have worked together for the last 20 years, as professional partners and friends.  His excellent bio-mechanical knowledge has been an incredible asset to my physical therapy practice.  Dr. Haynie’s techniques and ART skills have been invaluable within our practice, allowing faster recovery and quicker return-to-work days.  We have been able to integrate our practices allowing more comprehensive treatments, educating patients to assume responsibility for their health, and following the concept of "treating the whole body”!

I highly admire Dr. Haynie with his skills, honesty and on-going educational goals.

All the best, Pete Holman, M.S.P.T.,C.S.C.S.

Dr Haynie has been my chiropractor for 20 years.  He treated me throughout my competitive fighting career as an ISKA Colorado State Kickboxing Champion and more importantly, now as an active aging athlete.  Dr. Haynie has a deep understanding of biomechanics, a keen eye when it comes to assessment and a tremendous rapport with the local Doctors.  His work with the Aspen Sante Fe Ballet, the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby team and numerous X-Games athletes has refined his multi-modality approach to treatment; from orthotics, to ART, to spine health, this guy can do anything!  There are many choices in Aspen for chiropractors, as an active Physical Therapist and Strength Coach, I refer to and personally use Dr. Eric Haynie.

Eric: you truly are amazing and I have appreciated your help all these years!!!

Dr. Eric Haynie has been my go-to chiropractor since high school.  Every neck injury, low back injury, spasm, or really any physical ailment I have, I call Eric, and my sessions with him always fix the issue.  As an acupuncturist myself, I am a tough critic of other practitioners and their skills with physiology and anatomy, and with Eric, I never worry or question anything that he is doing, even when it comes to dry needling or acupuncture, in which Eric also has extensive education and knowledge.  In fact, I use my time with him not only as a time for my own self-care, but as a time to learn from him because his understanding of the body is so extensive and thorough.  I have been to other chiropractors in my life, and no one knows how to remedy my issues the way Eric does.  I recommend him to all my patients, and know that if my patients see him, they are in good hands.  I cannot recommend him highly enough.  He is a doctor of chiropractic, but has a thorough knowledge of the body and how to treat it that I find exceptional beyond his licensure or scope of practice.  I send patients to him before referring to other doctors or physical therapists because I know they will get an accurate, and extensively detailed evaluation and treatment.  If I, or any of my patients, have a physical issue, whether muscular or neurological, Dr. Haynie is the first person I recommend.

Dr. Dave Hollander, M.D.

I've been a patient of Dr. Haynie's for the past 20 years.  Whether it is rehabilitation, a simple, or complex injury, Eric's treatment with outstanding knowledge of biomechanics and anatomy have helped me get back to do the things I love in this valley.

It’s an easy solution.  If you are struggling with your health, go see Dr. Eric Haynie.  In the beginning it was for an injury to my shoulder that he helped me recover from.  He makes sure that I am aligned and biomechically moving correctly.  Because of Eric, I am able to live an extremely athletic and active lifestyle that includes crossfit, hiking, skiing, biking and much more!

Eric Haynie has provided great health care and medical advice to me over many years.  He always has a method to provide pain relief and muscular relaxation for me in my back, legs or feet when I have needed it.
As an active athlete, Eric understands the body well and the reasons we hurt ourselves as well as methods to heal when we are over active.
I would recommend Eric to anyone needing musculoskeletal help.
