Mission Statement

My goal as a physical medicine specialist is to find the root cause of the patient’s problem.  I want to inform and educate the patient so they understand what their diagnosis is.  Then I can teach them what they can do to resolve their problems on their own.  My goal, once I figure out a patient’s diagnosis, is to thoroughly explain it to them so that they understand it and why it is happening.  I do my best to teach a patient what they can do to resolve their problems on their own.  My mission is to not only get the patient well as fast as possible, but also to train them to do their own stretches and exercises so they do not need to rely on me for improvement.  If the patient is not improving, I quickly refer them to the appropriate practitioner.  While working on a patient, I do not focus on passive dependent care like stretching, or therapeutic ultrasound.  I meticulously teach each patient how to do their exercises and stretches correctly on their own so they don't hurt themselves when they visit at a later date, I go over the exercises to make sure they are properly doing what they have been taught.

I do not use ineffective modalities like therapeutic ultrasound just because an insurance company will pay for it.

As a musculoskeletal specialist, I take the time with the patient to do more than manipulation, and joint mobilization.  I am not just a “crack and rack” chiropractor.  I use soft tissue techniques like ART (Active Release Technique) and Graston Technique to break down adhesions and scar tissue, as well as dry needling to reset muscle spindle receptors, and acupuncture for musculoskeletal healing.  My best asset is understanding the mechanics of the body, and I use that knowledge to address the patient’s compensations surrounding the injury site to educate the patient in self-care so the problem does not return.
